38 Today.....

Well today I turn 38...... I can't believe I am that old. My husband (which is 2 years younger) gets a kick out of ribbing me about how old I am. My first thought was to make sure he never made it to see 38 himself, but then I changed my mind and I want him to suffer just like I have.

My high school 20 year class reunion is in a month and I am one of the lucky ones that gets to attend as we have lost so many in our class. Too young to leave this earth but apparently God was ready for them to return home.

I have so many wonderful friends that have wished me a happy birthday on facebook. It has really made my day to know that people really are thinking about me. (I know there is a reminder on the facebook page about whose birthday it is but just let me think that I am inportant on my special day.) I took a long lunch today and on my way back to work got pulled over for speeding but the cop let me go with a warning since it's my birthday. How sweet huh?

When I reflect on the wonderful things that have happened in my 38 years on this earth, I realize that I have so much more to be thankful for than just the obvious. Of course, I am thankful for my family, my job and my health. I am thankful for the gifts that have been bestowed upon me by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have been entrusted to be the mother of 2 wonderful boys and step mother to a daughter and another son. There are times that I would like to wrap my hands around their necks and squeeze really hard but I wouldn't take anything for any of them. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband that loved me and my boys so much that he adopted them. I have been blessed with wonderful parents, and a wonderful brother without whom I would be nowhere. They were always my support team and my best friends. I know that I can depend on them at anytime and they would never let me down. I have been blessed with so many wonderful co-workers that make my job a little easier each day (thank you Lord). I have wonderful friends without whom I could not function. As my husband likes to point out, my friends are very special and unique. Each one has a different purpose in my life. This brings me to a few very special friends that are priceless to me.

Dara-she is my rock and my shoulder. I know that we can talk to each other and stop in the middle of the conversation and know exactly where to pick back up the next time. We have cried to each other and given each other numerous advice tips that may or may not have been used but we know we listen to each other and that's all that counts. You are wonderful Dara.

K.R.-what can I say about K.R? He is a great friend that has let me talk without judging and whom I know will always be there should I need him. Thanks K. Your the greatest.

B.P.-is awesome. Always listens to whatever the drama is and never questions the whys, or why nots. Sometimes havong a different perspective is enough to make a decision. You know who you are...thanks.

And finally my dearest and best friend ever....Tina. She is more like my sister than best friend. Tina has always been there for me no matter what is happening or has happened. We have been through our ups and downs and had our disagreements but it has never made our friendship waiver. We have been friends for 30 years and I love her like my sister. I know that should I ever need anything that she would be there in a instant. I would not give anything in the world for my wonderful sister Tina. Her family has always treated me like I was one of them and I always considered them to be an extended part of my family. We may not get to see each other as often as we would like or talk to each other everyday but I know she is always there for me and I hope she knows the same.

People come into our lives everyday for one reason or another. Some stay a long time while others come and go. Each person has a purpose and it is for us to determine what purpose that person serves. Thanks to all of my family and friends that have made this a wonderful day.

LOVE YA!!!!
